Hon Hai Precision Industry sta lavorando ad un sistema di ricarica wireless per Apple, riporta Nikkei. Citando una fonte familiare ai fatti, il blog afferma che l’azienda manifatturiera, meglio conosciuta come Foxconn, sta lavorando ad un modulo per la ricarica wireless di iPhone 8.
La fonte aggiunge inoltre che l’introduzione di questa nuova features sui top di gamma Apple dipenderà da quanto Foxconn riuscirà ad incrementare il tasso di rendimento nella produzione di questi componenti. Se non riuscisse a produrre un volume piuttosto alto di moduli, potremmo non vedere l’anno prossimo la ricarica wireless.
The introduction of wireless charging capabilities is part of Apple’s ongoing efforts to overhaul the iPhone design to boost sales during the 10th anniversary of its ubiquitous and iconic device that had transformed mobile internet and communications since the release of its first incarnation. For now, the new model has been widely dubbed iPhone 8, although Apple may christen it differently given the special occasion of its launch.

In addition, the premium 5.5-inch handset will sport a curved organic light-emitting diode screen, while the other two models will stick with existing flat low temperature poly-silicon display, NAR has also reported.
Nikkei non ha invece menzionato alcun nuovo dispositivo Apple da 5 pollici e non è chiaro se verrà o meno rilasciato. Ci si aspetta di vedere la prossima generazione di iPhone con display edge-to-edge e case in vetro un po’ come accaduto su iPhone 4 e 4s parecchi anni fa.
