Hello, I have the same exact problem with not being able to open "app public-private". In my case I renamed the 'private-public.app', and now I have more the appearance of the password. Instead I get the popup to partition the drive. 

Have you ever been able to solve this problem and get the folders and files in the 'public-private' folder?

They are from the United States so going to try to use an app to translate this for Italian. I hope that makes sense. I need those files back, so if you have any information that can help, I'd be grateful.
