configurare stampante in rete tramite modem

Ciao!

Ho una stampante Brother DCP-197C che ho collegato alla porta usb del modem adsl Huawei hg-532s per poterla vedere in rete e usarla da più pc in contemporanea.

Ho seguito le istruzioni all'interno del pannello "print server" del modem che dice:

 

1. Introduction         This application notes explain the steps of enabling the Printer Server function in HUAWEI DSL Router Home Gateway platforms.   2. How to enable on-board Printer Server function -- Following are the steps to enable the on-board Printer Server.         Step 1: Click on Add a printer from Control Panel of the Win XP computer and click "Next".         Step 2: Select Network Printer and click "Next".         Step 3: Select Connect to a printer on the Internet, type "http://192.168.1.1:631/printers/hp3845" and click "Next". The printer name "hp3845" can be any name you liked.         Step 4: Click "Have Disk", insert printer driver CD.         Step 5: Select driver file directory on CD-ROM and click "OK".         Step 6: Once the printer name appears, click "OK".         Step 7: Choose "Yes" or "No" for default printer setting and click "Next".         Step 8: Click "Finish".         Step 9: Check the status of printer from Windows Control Panel, printer window. Status should be shown ready.

 

Il punto è che questa procedura funziona perfettamente con la partizione in cui ho windows 7 ma non ne vuole sapere con Maverick o Snow Leopard.

 

Se aggiungo una stampante IP e metto come indirizzo http://192.168.1.1:631/printers/hp3845 ottengo un messaggio di errore "indirizzo non valido o incompleto".

Se tolgo "http://" invece compare "indirizzo o nome host valido e completo" ma poi come protocollo devo selezionare "HP socket", "LDP" o "IPP"?

Ho provato a pasticciare con le opzioni ma in nessun modo va.

 

Cosa sbaglio secondo voi, visto che sotto windows 7 funziona magnificamente (in genere è il contrario) e al primo colpo?
