È una storia che ha quasi dell’incredibile, Robert Bainter perse il suo Apple Watch ben sei mesi fa e pare che questo mese qualcuno lo abbia ritrovato e restituito ancora funzionante. La notizia proveniente da una fonte locale, KTLA, e riporta che Bainter avrebbe perso il suo orologio mentre faceva surf a Huntington Beach lo scorso anno.
“This thing has been my good luck charm. I would use it quite often to show the surf and how fast you were going. It would even show you where you were on the beach,” afferma Bainter.
Until “a huge wave came and you know I was loving it, rode it and then I pick up my arm and like ‘Oh My God,’ what just happened.”
Dopo aver perso il dispositivo, Bainter ha attivato la modalità smarrimento tramite “Trova il Mio iPhone”. Come di consueto a schermo appare il messaggio con il numero del proprietario e il messaggio che il dispositivo è stato perso. Per sei mesi Bainter non è riuscito a localizzare il suo orologio, ma poi un numero anonimo lo avrebbe chiamato.
La persona in questione ha riferito a Bainter di aver trovato Apple Watch a 3 miglia di distanza da dove lo aveva perso originariamente e ancora funzionante.
“It’s this guy saying, ‘hey if your name is Rob Bainter and you lost an Apple Watch recently. Give me a call and if you can describe this I’ll give this thing to you.’” The man who called found Bainter’s watch 3 miles north of where it went lost at sea.
“He was just walking looking for shells and he found it right there. It was a dream come true, I couldn’t believe it!” Even more unbelievable: the watch still works, although the salt water left a little haze on the screen.”It worked fine, it didn’t skip a beat, all the information was there, all the apps were there.”
Nonostante Apple abbia recentemente migliorato la resistenza all’acqua, l’azienda cerca di evitare la parola “waterproof” ove possibile.
Insomma tutto è bene quel che finisce bene, adesso abbiamo un ulteriore prova che Apple Watch è realmente impermeabile e che forse per 6 mesi circa è rimasto sott’acqua seppure non in profondità.
